Weight Loss in the Winter

It's super cold out right now and the thought of going on a calorie reduction diet right now makes me cold all over!
Instead make soups and stews that are hearty and warm just omit the meat and added fat.
Don't cut back too much on calories just eliminate the junk, meat and fat and you won't feel deprived.

Chili
In a crock pot or pressure cooker:
1 large can of diced tomatoes plus 1 can full of water
1 small can of tomato paste
2 cans of low salt black or pinto beans with the liquid
1 cup frozen or fresh corn kernels
1 chopped onion
3 chopped garlic cloves
2 tablespoons of maple syrup
1 or more chopped hot peppers
1 seeded chopped sweet peeper
1 tablespoon of cumin
1 tablespoon of chili powder
1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar (optional)
Cook on low all day or over night or according to the manufactures’ directions. Serve in a bowl over baby spinach leaves.
